The male shark weighed 64 kg and was not yet mature. By a look on the contents of its stomach we knew what it was feeding on at the moment it got caught. It is good to know that all findings were recorded for research purposes so that this accident was not a total waste.<br \/> The pictures are taken with my cellphone, so the quality is not of high standard. The last picture shows a vervet monkey walking around at university premises, yes, the monkeys that we are not allowed to feed.. haha!<\/p>\n<p>What is mooier dan een ontleding van een 2 meter lange Bronze whaler shark (<em>Carcharhinus brachyurus) <\/em>als onderdeel van je college? Deze haai was gisteravond per ongeluk terecht gekomen in een vissers net en overgebracht naar Bayworld Oceanarium waar wij het vandaag mochten ontleden als onderdeel van de module &#39;Marine Predators&#39;. De mannelijke haai woog 64 kg en was nog niet eens volwassen. Het openen van de maag toonde ons het laatste avondmaal van deze kanjer. Alle informatie over deze haai zoals lengte, gewicht en inhoud werd genoteerd voor onderzoeksdoeleinden. Het is goed om te weten dat de dood van deze haai dus niet helemaal nutteloos was.<br \/> Ik heb deze foto&#39;s gemaakt met mijn telefoon vandaar dat de kwaliteit niet optimaal is.
